January is Substance Use Disorder Treatment Month
By Ashley Mitchell
January is Substance Use Disorder Month, but the center is here for you all year.
Treatment is not a one size fits all, Save a Life is here to find what works for you.
Save a Life offers Recovery Coaching, including a Teen Recovery Coach.
AA and NA are separate entities and host meetings at Save a Life.
Staff and Volunteers are here to be your resource brokers as well as your support.
Substance Use Disorder Treatment Month is a time to shine a light on hope, healing, and the many pathways to recovery. At Save a Life Recovery Resource Center, we believe recovery is not one-size-fits-all. Every person has a different story, and so the support they need is just as unique. That is why our programs are built around compassion, connection, and meeting people exactly where they are.
Substance use disorder affects individuals, families, and entire communities. Treatment and recovery are possible! With the right support, people can find stability, purpose, and a life they are proud of living. Our role at Save a Life is to help make that path clearer and less overwhelming.
Recovery coaches offer non-judgmental, peer-based support from people who truly understand the recovery journey. Coaches walk alongside individuals as they navigate treatment, early recovery, and long-term wellness. Whether someone is just beginning to ask for help or working to maintain their recovery, recovery coaches provide encouragement, accountability, and hope. Here at the center, we are very lucky to have a teen recovery coach, one of few in the state. She has taken a 30 hour course ‘Recovery Coach for Young People’ and is a fellow teen who is a trained recovery coach. Teens and younger are welcome to meet our teen recovery coach on Thursdays 2-6pm and see how they can help you.
The treatment and recovery system can feel confusing and overwhelming. As resource brokers, Save a Life helps individuals and families navigate available options and connect to services that truly fit their needs.
We help people explore:
Treatment options
Recovery supports
Housing, employment, and basic needs
Community and peer-led resources
Instead of handing someone a list and sending them on their way, we are happy to walk with you, help you make calls, attend appointments when possible, and adjust the plan as your needs change. We have a phone available to you at the center, free WIFI, public use computers, and printing availability.
We believe recovery works best when it honors the whole person. There is no “right” way to recover, only what works best for you as an individual. At Save a Life, we listen first. We value your voice, your goals, and your lived experience.
Whether someone is seeking treatment, supporting a loved one, or simply looking for information, our doors are open. Everyone deserves respect, dignity, and access to support.
Substance Use Disorder Treatment Month reminds us that recovery is real, help is available, and no one has to face this alone. At Save a Life, we are committed to being a steady, compassionate presence in our community. Not just this month, but all year long.
If you or someone you love is looking for support, resources, or simply a place to start, Save a Life is here to walk beside you. Recovery is possible and we would be honored to be part of your journey.
